Also worked for a time in the London Post Graduate School of Medicine (School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine). Special interests - respiratory medicine.

Diploma in Diabetes, Exercise and Healthy Eating, Degree in Health Studies.
The practice nurse provides you with a comprehensive, quality service in a caring and helpful manner. This includes asthma and diabetic clinics, immunisations, blood and urine tests, and advice on minor ailments. If you wish to make an appointment with the practice nurse please contact reception.

The reception/administration staff assist in the efficient day-to-day running of the practice and provide support for the services we provide. When you telephone the surgery the receptionist will ask you for a few details. They have been trained to do this so that we can meet your needs in the most appropriate way. All staff in all matters relating to our patients maintain strict confidentiality. Reception staff will do their best to help you, but they have a demanding job and they are often very busy, so please be patient.

Treatment Room Nurses
The treatment room nurses deal with wounds and dressings, suture removal, blood tests, ear syringing and injections. This service is available by appointment (arranged via switchboard staff) from 9.30 am - 12 noon, and from 3.30 pm - 5.00 pm.
Health Visitor
The Health Visitor is qualified in nursing and midwifery and has been specially trained to give health advice on matters relating to family and child health. She assesses children’s development and has been specially trained to give advice on matters relating to family and child health. The Health Visitor may be contacted on 3831 1442
District Nurses
The district nursing team provide skilled nursing care and advice to carers in the patient’s own home. They assess needs, give information and counselling and carry out appropriate nursing care. This service is available for the very ill and housebound and is usually arranged through either hospital or GP referral.
Midwife
A midwife is attached to the practice to assist with the provision of ante natal and postnatal care to our patients.
Medical Students
The practice is involved in the education of medical students from Queen’s University in Belfast, and from time to time a student will be attached to the practice, and will accompany doctors during surgeries, clinics and home visits. Permission for the presence of a student will be always be obtained from the patient.

Other staff who work with the practice include Community Psychiatric Nurse, Addiction Unit Staff, Dental and Chiropody.
There is a pharmacy attached to the Health Centre.
